Watch Vengamamba Telugu Full Movie In Full HD.
Story: The film is the story of the eponymous poet-devotee of Lord Venkateshwara who were in the Mughal/British India of the 1700s. Born in Tarikonda in Andhra Pradesh to an orthodox Brahmin family, Vengamamba is a strong devotee of Lord Venkateshwara (played by Saikiran) right since childhood and considers Him her husband. So much so that when her original husband Venkatachalapathi dies young, she laments to give in to the Hindu custom of going decorations and having her head tonsured, since she considers only the Lord as her husband.
Set on the backdrop of Tarigonda, a pious Brahmin family of Krishnaiah (Sarath Babu) and Mangamamba (Sudha) pray for children and their wish is given in the form of a child girl. They name her Vengamamba (Meena) and right from her childhood, she is a devotee of Lord Venkateshwara. Unlike the regular activities of girls her age, Vengamamba is involved in her own experience of Balaji and his concerns her parents.
They get her married to Venkata Chalapathi but then she does not carry off her duties as a wife. Even the husband is supportive as he sees a goddess in her. The story takes a turn when Chalapathi dies and Vengamamba decides to take up writing poetry and songs on Lord Venkateshwara. She is supported by her in-laws and soon her quest takes her to Tirumala. How she handles hiccups that get her way and reached the word of love and worship forms the heart.
Taking that to be the will of her Lord, Vengamamba moves to Tirumala (the hill joining Tirupati that houses the famous Hindu shrine) from Tarikonda, where the Lord Himself helps (or is at least shown to, in the movie) her get a place to live and maintain her service to Him. A jealous and vile missionary in the temple, unable to stand her rising popularity, frames her in a burglary of the Lord's decorations and has her move Tirumala, but she is quickly back thanks to the descendants of Annamacharya, whose house she gets to stay in. The Lord anyway helps her reach the temple each night to perform her requests for Him also when she has to stay on from Tirumala.
The denouement is quite comparable to that of Annamacharya, with an aged old Vengamamba barred from tumbling in the sanctum sanctorum by the Lord Himself, being asked if she wants to wait modern and famous (she refuses in the same politically correct way, of course), and being granted moksha (freedom from the cycle of life and death). The film is, of course, enhanced by your own devotion, and if Annamacharya gives you weep, that one will, too.
The movie begins, though, represent a good amount of her historically documented life, and serves the purpose of reaffirming the faith of its readers. Vengamamba carries herself with a sense of hope all through, impermeable to a lot of jibes and planning around her that would ruffle most normal persons - and that's perhaps a takeaway from the movie for the reason viewer. How devotion is arguably the common powerful narcotic, the biggest gift. The film also transports you into the time of orthodox Hinduism, giving you glad you weren't born before.
Annamacharya and Sri Ramadasu were products of Raghavendra Rao's fiction-writing works at least as far as the parts involving the Lord were involved, and Vengamamba is in the same canvas - so she is described as someone born through the Lord's own style, there are umpteen scenes telling the Lord in communication with his wife Sridevi and with Vengamamba, and then, of program, there is the whole climax, none of which can be considered authentic.
Meena is a mature actress, and quite good in the leading role. Everyone does a good job, including Ashok Kumar as the villainous priest and Saikiran as Lord Venkateshwara, though the funny track starring Ananth is rather different. The film looks visually rich, which is surprising since you wouldn't have anticipated this one, with its lack of mainstream actors, to be satisfied by its generators.
Vengamamba's poetry is maybe not as popular as the musical forms of Annamacharya, and the feeling of this one (scored by Keeravani) thus doesn't hold any popular tracks. The poetess herself isn't that successful in Telugu lore, which shows in the blank fields. For the religiously-oriented, though, this is a professionally made present that should not be missed
This film is based on the biography of Tharigonda Vengamamba. Lord Sri Venkateshwara's who awakes with Annamayya's melukolupu, and follows the day's rituals, ends with Vengamamba's Mutyala Harathi. No one is allowed to have darshan once this ritual is completed. Vengama
The movie is produced by V Doraswami Raju under the banner of VMC Productions. The cast includes Saikiran, Sarath Babu, Sudha, Siva Parvathi, Ragini, and Ashok Kumar. M.M. Keeravani scores the music.
