The movie begins when two families fix the marriage of their daughters specifically Shankar and Kaveri, giving her a necklace. But, Lakshmana, the evil uncle of the Kaveri needed to have his child coupled to the son. Then, when Kaveris parents were returning home by boat, Lakshmana drowns their boat, stopping Kaveris mothers. But Kaveri survives and is guarded by the minister of the temple of Angola Amman. He raises Kaveri as his own daughter.
Years pass by and Kaveri (Prema) grows up into a young woman and becomes a great devotee of Goddess Angela Parameswaran. After some time, Shankar, having become a doctor comes to the village to be married to Lakshmana's daughter. Shankar meets Kaveri while trying to heal her after being poisoned. Meanwhile, Kalabhujanga, a powerful and evil tantrik, is in search of the blood of a pure virgin in order to complete an evil ritual for him to gain immortality. Kaveri was chosen to be the victim of his evil plan.
When Kaveri is regarding be married, kalabhujanga kills the proposed groom and Shankar couples the grief-stricken Kaveri, oblivious that the Goddess has raised him from Kalabhujangas mortal illness. Kaveri and Shankar next have a son named Kishan. As an act of revenge, Kalabhujanga tries everything to kill Kaveri and her children, but, the divine interference of Goddess Angela Amman delivers them every time.
Finally, on the last day of Navratri, Kalabhujanga binds Angela Amman in an army of tortured ghosts and holds Kaveri. As Shankar vainly attempts to stop the possessed Kaveri from hitting Kishan, Goddess Angela Parameswari frees herself and after a fiery fight with Kalabhujanga, slays him by pressing him under her foot.
